How a verdict is grounded
  • The stat table is passed into the request as fixed input, so the verdict reasons from published numbers instead of improvising them. It is built on client-owned facts: every figure carries a declared provenance — measured, typical range, design specification, historical estimate or fictional canon.
  • Figure audit. Every number in the reply is audited back against what was sent, and each unsourced figure is shown to the reader with the sentence it appeared in, rather than passing silently.
  • Grounding audit. Every asset and liability must declare whether it came from a supplied stat, documented behaviour, the setting, or is reasoning — so each claim declares its own footing rather than arriving flat.
  • The verdict states what each side brings, where the decisive advantage lies, how it most likely goes, and what would flip it.
  • Contenders outside the table are marked as such, and the verdict is instructed to reason about them qualitatively and to state no figures for them. Any number that appears for one anyway is flagged in the audit.
  • Ask who wins between a grizzly and a silverback anywhere else and the answer is usually built on invented bite forces and confident body masses that are wrong in ways you cannot check. The reasoning here is the model's. The arithmetic is not.
What the five axes do to the contenders
  • The five condition axes — terrain, light, preparation, victory condition and scale — are resolved against each contender's traits into amplified, nullified and contested capabilities before the request is made. That resolved list is what the verdict reasons from, so changing the terrain genuinely changes the input rather than the flavour text.
  • Structural findings distinguish a contender that cannot be present at all from one the victory condition cannot bind.
Rematch, challenge, export, and what is checked in your browser
  • Rematch the same pair under changed conditions and get the delta, including an honest “the verdict did not move”.
  • Challenge a verdict and have the objection conceded, partly conceded or disputed on its merits.
  • Content boundaries are enforced in the browser before any request is made: no matchups between named living individuals, no method, no gore.
  • Markdown, JSON and claims CSV export, all carrying the figure audit.
